Where will Wolves finish this season (23/24)?

Before the season started, I made my prediction. Rock bottom or Europe.

Now, only two games in, I'm not sure that either of those will come true. Against Man United we were superb. Everything was there other than the final touch. We pressed, we won the ball back, we countered, we just couldn't finish.

Then vs Brighton we got played off the park. You could look at the stats and say that we weren't far off, that 4-1 wasn't an accurate scoreline but truthfully I don't think we ever looked like scoring more than the one we did and Brighton were clinical.

They are what we could have been. Just 4 seasons ago, 2019/20, we were Europa League quarter finalists. We could beat anyone on our day. That season we did the double over Manchester City, won away at Istanbul, and took 10,000 supporters to Braga.

We were to be feared.

These days, we could roll over to any team in the league. We have the first eleven to compete but there's little quality depth alongside not having a clinical finisher. Sasa isn't fully fit, Fabio while a massive improvement on when he first joined just won't get us 15+ goals that an inform, pre-injury Raul would have. If you want to stay in the league you need goals. It's that simple. I don't see where ours are going to come from.

Only 3 games in, but Everton has now become a must win game. Lose that and it could get very hostile down at Molineux. Win and we go into September with our first three points on the board.

Prediction after two games: 16th.

There are worse teams than us, which is our only saving grace this season.
